It serves as the East Coast faction of the California-based Bloods, engaging in drug trafficking, robbery, and extortion. The gang became dominant in the 1990s but splintered after founder Omar Portee's 2001 RICO conviction. It remains active with an estimated 7,000-15,000 members.
